WHO WE ARE

Volunteers of America Western Washington was established in 1898, two years after Maud and Ballington Booth founded the national organization in New York. We respond to more than 300,000 requests for assistance each year through a partnership of professional staff, and community supporters. Volunteers are instrumental in every aspect of our ministry of service and help us reach thousands more people than we could with staff alone.

OUR SERVICES

Food Assistance

Our food banks, food pantries, and distribution center all exist to tackle hunger in our community and also serve as touchpoints to connect our neighbors with other basic needs.

Housing & Shelter

Everyone deserves to have a safe place to sleep at night. We promote shelter and stability by providing quality resources and referrals, mediating between landlords and tenants, and housing women and children in our transitional shelter program, Maud’s House.

Cold Weather Shelter

Shelters are open in Snohomish and Monroe from November 1 to March 15 when temperatures are forecast to reach 34º or below.

ECEAP Preschool

Our free Early Childhood Education & Assistance Program (ECEAP) preschools prepare students and their families for success in life. We are passionate about seeing, celebrating, and educating every child.

Behavioral Health

Most of us will need emotional support at some point in our lives. We are here to provide that support to people in crisis and/or considering suicide. Our crisis services are available 24/7 by phone and via chat.

Tribal Services

Serving Native American & Alaska Native Communities throughout the state of Washington to access culturally appropriate behavioral health resources.

Personal Support Services

We support adults with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities to live safe and fulfilling lives through experiences that foster independence and enhance self-esteem. Our representative payee program assists those with Social Security benefits to budget for independent living, and Foundational Community Supports provides benefits for supportive housing and employment.

Dispute Resolution

Our Dispute Resolution Centers (DRCs) provide comprehensive mediation, conflict resolution, and training services to the community.

Volunteers of America Western Washington

Volunteers of America Western Washington inspires self-sufficiency, dignity and hope by providing critical health and human services to thousands of vulnerable individuals and families across Western Washington.
